Physical/Dimensional Calibration

Our Temperature Calibration Services

Temperature measurement plays a critical role across industries such as pharmaceuticals, food production, industrial processes, environmental monitoring, and scientific research.

When temperature instruments drift out of specification, the consequences can be serious—compromised product quality, safety hazards, regulatory violations, and production failures. The Accredited Labs network provides comprehensive temperature calibration services to keep your instruments performing within their required accuracy ranges.

Our Process

Temperature calibration involves verifying and adjusting instruments across their full measurement ranges and operating conditions. Each device is compared to certified reference temperature standards with known, traceable values to identify any deviations from its intended performance.

Skilled technicians use precisely controlled temperature sources and calibrated reference thermometers to evaluate each instrument, document all variations, and may make the adjustments needed to restore accuracy. If an instrument cannot be restored to the required accuracy range, you receive detailed reporting with the data necessary for corrective action, maintenance planning, or replacement decisions.

All temperature calibrations follow internationally recognized standards and industry-specific protocols to promote consistency, reliability, and complete measurement traceability. Each instrument is returned with documentation linking its accuracy to national temperature standards—supporting quality management systems, regulatory compliance, and process control requirements.

Types of Temperature Measuring Instruments We Calibrate

Our comprehensive temperature calibration services cover the complete spectrum of temperature measuring technologies used across industries:

  • Digital Thermometers and Temperature Indicators: Electronic instruments that provide precise digital temperature readings with data logging and alarm capabilities. These instruments require calibration of temperature sensors, signal processing electronics, and display systems to ensure accurate measurements across their full range.
  • Thermocouples and RTD Sensors: Industrial temperature sensors including thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), and thermistors used in process control and monitoring applications. Calibration verifies sensor accuracy, lead wire effects, and signal characteristics across temperature ranges and environmental conditions.
  • Temperature Transmitters: Industrial instruments that convert temperature measurements into standardized electrical signals for process control systems. Calibration verifies both temperature measurement accuracy and signal output characteristics across the full measurement and output ranges.
  • Infrared Thermometers and Thermal Imaging: Non-contact temperature measurement devices including infrared thermometers, thermal imaging cameras, and pyrometers. These instruments require specialized calibration procedures that account for emissivity, distance effects, and environmental factors.
  • Temperature Data Loggers: Automated monitoring systems that record temperature measurements over time for environmental monitoring, validation, and compliance applications. Calibration ensures measurement accuracy and timing precision across extended monitoring periods.
  • Laboratory Thermometers: Precision instruments used for scientific research, analytical testing, and quality control applications. These instruments require high-accuracy calibration with specialized procedures and reference standards appropriate for laboratory applications.
  • HVAC and Building Automation Sensors: Temperature sensors used in building automation systems, HVAC control, and environmental monitoring. Calibration ensures accurate temperature control for occupant comfort and energy efficiency.
  • Industrial Temperature Controllers: Process control instruments that use temperature measurements for heating and cooling control in industrial applications. Calibration verifies both measurement accuracy and control output characteristics.
  • Food Safety Thermometers: Specialized instruments used for food temperature monitoring, HACCP compliance, and food safety verification. These instruments require calibration procedures that address food industry requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Environmental and Weather Monitoring Equipment: Temperature sensors used for environmental monitoring, weather stations, and outdoor applications. Calibration accounts for environmental effects and ensures accurate measurements under varying outdoor conditions.
